Stuart Thurgood has ended his time at Gillingham after agreeing a season long loan at Grays.

The Gills midfielder is out of contract next summer and the move effectively ends the 26-year-old’s Priestfield stint.

Thurgood had been in talks for several weeks over a move away from Priestfield after manager Mark Stimson made it clear he was surplus to requirements.

Thurgood spent the back end of last season on loan at Grays - the same club who Gillingham had signed the player from in November last year.

The tough-tackling player made 12 appearances for Gillingham.
