Village's 10k back on 2002 calendar

THE Larkfield 10k returns to the athletics calendar on Sunday, May 12, after an enforced absence due to the 2001 Foot-and-Mouth outbreak.

The race has gained valuable sponsorship from Berkeley Homes and is supported by Larkfield Leisure Centre and Larkfield Athletic Club. A slightly revised course takes full advantage of the superbly landscaped lakeside country park adjacent to Berkeley Homes new development off Larkfield's Leybourne Way.

The varied route takes athletes up New Hythe Lane, through Leybourne, Birling and Snodland before an off road section through the country park to finish back at Larkfield Leisure Centre.

Entries cost £6 (£7 unattached) or £8 on the day and the race starts at 11am. Entry forms are available from Larkfield Leisure Centre or by telephoning 01622 719345.
