WELLING player-manager Neil Smith continued his transfer activity by signing two promising youngsters after Saturday's 1-0 friendly win at Folkestone.
Smith has agreed deals with former Charlton and Millwall utility man Adam Cottrell and former Brighton full-back Steve May.
Both players have impressed during the club's two pre-season matches and signed one-year contracts after the Folkestone match.
Cottrell, 20, was released by Millwall in the summer and featured 17 times in the Nationwide Conference for Weymouth at the end of last season.
May, 20, played 15 times for Bognor at the start of last season following his release by Brighton.
The Wings again played a number of trialists against Folkestone, including defender Rob Gier, who scored the only goal of the game in the second half.
Forward Andy Martin also played the second half despite reports suggesting he had signed for Maidstone at the end of last week.
Meanwhile, midfielder Des Boateng has been released by the Wings.
Welling continue their pre-season campaign on Tuesday night when they host Liam Daish's Ebbsfleet United at Park View Road.
