Dover Athletic could be just 90 minutes away from drawing a Premier League giant after battling to a 2-1 win at Corby Town in the FA Cup First Round on Saturday afternoon.

Whites made it two appearances in the draw for the Second Round in four seasons after second-half goals from Nathan Elder and Chris Kinnear Jnr gave them a cushion to withstand a late fightback from the Northamptonshire side, who play a tier below Dover in the Southern League Premier Division.

Welling United will join Whites in the hat for the Second Round draw, which will take place on live TV at 4.10pm on Sunday, after a memorable 2-1 win over former top-flight side Luton Town.

The two sides could yet meet Gillingham in the next stage after Gills salvaged a draw against non-league Brackley Town in the seventh minute of stoppage-time at Priestfield.

Dover and Welling each earned £18,000 in prize money for their victories, while for the Wings it ended a run of seven straight defeats in First Round ties.

Dartford were unable to join their rivals in the next round after a 4-2 defeat at Skrill Premier rivals Salisbury City.

Dover will be ball number 10 in the draw, conducted by former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo and Arsenal player Perry Groves, with Welling taking 37 and Gillingham or Brackley being 22.
