Police are investigating after a 47-year-old man was found dead at a Maidstone house.

Officers were called to a home in Willington Street, near School Lane, shortly before 12.45pm due to concerns for the welfare of a person inside.

Paramedics also attended but a man was pronounced dead.

There are reportedly four police cars, two ambulances and forensics officers at the scene.

A police spokesman said an investigation was taking place into the circumstances surrounding the death.

It is not believed to be suspicious.

Next of kin have been informed.
