Motorbike crash

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The male biker, 43, was involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Fiesta at the top of Sutton Valence Hill, in Maidstone, at 9.35am this morning (Thursday).

The road, which runs outside the Kings Head pub, was shut shortly after the crash until 2pm

The motorcyclist was taken to Queens Hospital in Romford, with injuries to his head and pelvis, but was made stable.

The male passenger of the Ford Fiesta was taken to Maidstone Hospital as a precaution.

Dawn Crafton works near the scene of the crash at Hilltop Garage, North Street.

She said: "I didn't see the crash happen but people have said it looked pretty bad."
