Barclays Ashford is celebrating a decade of fundraising for the KM Big Charity Quiz.

The bank is lending its support to the event for the tenth year running and challenging readers to do the same by joining them at this exciting evening of wine and wisdom. The Ashford branch team will be running the bar on the night and each member has committed to a pound for pound fundraising scheme, with Barclays matching staff donations.

Event organisers are already in high spirits with 30 teams of eight already signed up to take part. It’s looking like a bumper year for both attendance and the amount of money raised for local causes.

The KM Big Charity Quiz will be staged at Ashford’s Stour Centre on Friday 18 November and teams of eight will receive a discount by using code ASH16 when booking. This reduces the cost per head to £7, which includes nibbles and snacks on the table, a complimentary beverage and a bottle of wine per table.

Beverley Walsh, Barclays Ashford, branch manager said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for staff to be part of something that adds huge value to our local charities, our community and Ashford town. It’s also a great opportunity for the team to work together, to be organised and to actually have some fun; interacting with local people from Ashford, helping them with the quiz and raising lots of funds.”

In his role as the KM Big Charity Quiz questionmaster, Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team invites Kentish Express Readers to influence proceedings by suggesting quiz questions.

He said: “The Readers’ Round is made up of questions sent in by the public. It has become quite a tradition that readers, whether they are attending the big quiz or not, send in their suggestions for questions! The best question is not the stinker that no one can answer, the best ones are those where you have the answer on the tip of your tongue.”

Organisations supporting the event include Shepherd Neame, Barclays bank, Specsavers, Hallett and Co, Office Angels and the Stour Centre. To secure your table or to submit a question for the Readers Round visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk
