Abdul Malik charged with attempted murder following Dymchurch stabbing

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Abdul Malik, 29, of High Street, Dymchurch, appeared before Folkestone magistrates today (Saturday) and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.

Police were called to Dymchurch High Street at 12.55am on Wednesday where they found a man in his 20s with stab wounds sitting in a car.

Malik was later arrested and charged yesterday. Police say the two men are known to each other.

The victim remains in hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw or heard the incident in the High Street near its junction with Orgarswick Avenue to get in contact.
