A post on social media read: “It is with great sadness we have decided to sell The Pit Stop cafe.

“It’s been an extremely hard decision to make but unfortunately we’ve decided to close.

“Living so far has definitely had its challenges and with other family work commitments, we’ve decided this is best.”

The post went on to thank customers for their support.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to each and everyone that has supported us.

“We’ve made some lovely friends along the way and appreciate your continued support.”

The Strand Street cafe, which served breakfast and lunch options, has a 4.5 star rating on Tripadvisor and was rated number three of five coffee and tea venues in Sandwich.

It opened in November last year.

Two weeks ago, the cafe shared a snap on their social media pages of a member of staff with two members of Sidemen.

Founded in 2013, Sidemen is made up of seven best friends, including rapper and boxer KSI, and between them have a 130 million combined subscribers on YouTube.

Members Vik Barn and Tobi Brown, who have a combined Instagram following of 8.5 million, visited The Pit Stop on August 6 and featured it in one of their YouTube videos.

In a post on Instagram, the team at the cafe said: “Catch the Pit Stop and team on the new Sidemen video on YouTube.”

In the video, the Sidemen travelled from Brighton to Margate in the world’s biggest and smallest vehicles.

The team at The Pit Stop served them a huge sandwich which they say “looks delicious”.

Former customers of the cafe have shared their upset over its closure saying they are “gutted”.

“Gutted loved coming in for breakfasts after a night of drinking, good luck for the future,” one person said.

Another commented: “Admire you for working so hard to run a lovely business. Always loved our visits.”
