Coronavirus Kent: Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival has been postponed over Covid-19

This year's 10th anniversary Folk &Ale Festival in Sandwich has been postponed until 2021.

The event was due to take place over three days on July 3,4 and 5.

The multi-arts festival features music, food and beer to highlights traditional and contemporary folk-life and folk arts.

A spokesman said: "It is with a heavy heart that the festival committee has had to postpone this year's festival until 2021.

"The team have worked hard to prepare for an amazing 10th anniversary celebration but all is not lost as we are simply delaying a year and will be ready to bring Sandwich back in the festival spirit again."

This is the latest in a long line of event cancellations including the 149th Open championship at Royal St George's, the Marines on the Green in Deal, The Crocus Walk and Clifftop Challenge for Breast Cancer Now, Dover Carnival and Sandwich Salutes the 40s, scheduled for May 8, 9 and 10 and the Food Fayre, over the last weekend in May, have also been cancelled.
