Rail passengers face delays after person spotted on tracks between Sandwich and Ramsgate

Rail passengers experienced delays after a person was spotted on the tracks.

Trains between Sandwich and Ramsgate were held back due to a trespasser in the area, while journeys from Canterbury West to Ramsgate and Margate were also disrupted.

The person has since been apprehended and trains are moving again.

A Southeastern spokesperson said: “Due to reports of a trespasser in the Sandwich area, trains between Sandwich and Ramsgate are being delayed.

“Trains between Canterbury West and Ramsgate/Margate are also being delayed.

“More information to follow.”
