Residents chase suspect burglar after raid on Co-operative store in The Street, Ash

Residents ran after a suspected burglar after a supermarket was broken into.

They had heard the alarm go off and chased after a man who was seen entering the store.

The suspect ran to a car where a second man was waiting outside and the pair took off.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "One of the witnesses reported being threatened during the incident."

The drama happened at the Co-operative in The Street at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.

Officers attended and found the window was smashed and a quantity of cigaretts had been stolen.

They now want anyone they haven't spoken to, and has information to call their appeal line.
