Volvo and VW written off in crash on A257 Ash Bypass near Sandwich

Two cars were written off in a crash on an A-road - but no serious injuries were reported.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers came across the smash near Sandwich while en route to another incident in the town.

A Volvo suffered heavy front-end damage, while the driver's side of a VW was left mangled.

The incident happened on Friday at the junction of A257 Ash Bypass and Weddington Lane.

In a tweet, BTP said: "While one of our units was en route to a Sandwich call, they came across this incident.

“Both vehicles required recovery and officers gave first aid to an injured party who is reported to only have minor injuries thankfully.”
