A good Samaritan in Sandwich has cleared up broken glass which was scattered around the town’s skate park.

Mr Jenner said the hazardous shards were near the ramps of Sandwich Skate Park at The Butts.

He said: “Just glad it’s been cleared up and the kids can use the park safely.”

It was reported to Dover District Council who said officers would inspect and make sure it was removed.

Others posted pictures on Facebook to warn parents and children at the Phoenix Centre were warned to be careful when playing on the skate park.

A DDC spokesman said: “We do regularly inspect and clear the skate park, and have asked contractors to carry out an additional inspection as soon as possible to ensure any broken glass is removed. If anyone has concerns about broken glass in the park area, we would ask them to report this to DDC on 01304 872428 or 01304 821199 out of hours, and we will take all appropriate steps to clear it.”
