Strong caused a large tree to fall causing a road blockage but it is likely to reopen.

The road was expected to be closed until tomorrow, with various diversions in place, however, emergency services say the route will be clear by 8pm.

It comes as an Atlantic low-pressure system is bringing unseasonably strong winds, and heavy rain or showers to many areas in Kent.

Kent Police Sevenoaks tweeted earlier today: "A massive tree is blocking the A25 #Seal #Sevenoaks next to the Shell garage!

"Please avoid the area and take alternate routes.

"Luckily, no injuries were reported. Stay safe, everyone."

But it was later confirmed traffic is due to return to normal.

Speaking at the time of the incident a Kent Highways spokesman said: "The A25 Seal Road is currently closed due to a large fallen tree – the tree surgeon is en route but delayed due to the A21 closure.

"Roads remain closed with police assistance.

"Traffic is diverted via Seal Hollow Road and Dartford Road and St John's Hill – the road is likely to be closed for the remainder of the evening."
