Paramedics, fire crews, police cars and the air ambulance have rushed to the scene of a crash on the A299 near Ramsgate this morning.
Traffic is backed up on Hengist Way, with the road closed in both directions, according to one motorist caught in the mayhem.
A driver, stuck on her way to work, said: "There are so many ambulances and police cars. At least five ambulances have driven past.
"Police are letting cars back up and turn around.
"The road has also been shut off now at the Cliffsend roundabout.
"There are no cars coming the other way so it looks like the whole road had been closed."
A police spokesman said: "Police received a report of a collision involving a lorry and a car at 8.16am.
"Officers are attending the scene on the A299 between Minster and Cliffsend roundabouts with the ambulance service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Injuries have been reported.
"The road has been closed while recovery work is ongoing."
