A man has been arrested in connection with the death of his six-week-old baby.
The 20-year-old is being investigated after McKenzie Ellis died from a head injury.
An inquest into the baby's death was opened at Maidstone's Archbishops Palace and heard he died at London's Kings College Hospital on July 26.
He had been admitted to hospital three days before in a critical condition after the accident in Linley Road, Broadstairs.
Assistant coroner Katrina Hepburn heard the boy's father had told nurses Mckenzie fell from his arms during a feed, suffering fatal injuries.
Ms Hepburn suspended the inquest pending the outcome of the police investigation and any criminal proceedings.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police is investigating after the death of a baby from Broadstairs.
"Officers were called on Monday, July 23, after the infant was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"The baby was transferred to a London hospital and later died on July 26.
"A 20-year-old man from Broadstairs was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail until August 15 while enquiries continue."
