A bike on the line caused train services to be delayed today.

Rail company SouthEastern tweeted this afternoon to say trains are being delayed via Broadstairs due to an obstruction on the line.

It says the bike has caused some damage to the rail and that engineers had to examine the line before services could return to normal.

In an update at 6pm, Southeastern said trains were able to run in both directions but there was a speed restriction on services towards Margate.
