Boy, 13, treated for burns after falling onto live rail tracks from a wall at the College Road roundabout in Margate

A 13-year-old boy suffered burns to his face and hands after falling onto live rail tracks at Margate.

Witnesses reported seeing the teenager fall between 20 and 30ft from a wall onto the live third rail from the bridge at the College Road roundabout.

The local teenager was taken to the Royal London Hospital after the fall at around 3pm this afternoon, where his condition is said to be stable.

Police attended, and ambulance crews treated the boy at the scene for burns to his hands and face.

British Transport Police officers are investigating to establish the circumstances surrounding the fall.
