Teenage boy hit by train in Broadstairs in stable condition

A teenage boy who was hit by a train in Broadstairs is in a stable condition in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the station at about 6.20pm yesterday following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics attended and the teenager was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London with potentially serious injuries.

His injuries are not described as life-threatening.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Trains were cancelled between Ramsgate and Margate but services were restored by 8.30pm.
