A pedestrian has been injured after a car smashed through a seafront barrier today.

Police were called to reports of a collision in Hengist Road, Birchington, at about noon.

Officers and paramedics attended where a car had collided with a barrier.

A pedestrian reported being injured during the incident.

The car has since been recovered.

It is not known if the driver was injured in the incident.

The ambulance service has been contacted for further details on the conditions of the driver and the pedestrian.
