Carbon dioxide leak at Vue cinema in Westwood Cross

Firefighters have been dealing with a carbon dioxide leak at a Kent cinema.

Crews were called to Vue at Westwood Cross just after 8pm last night.

A large cylinder of around 600 litres, and 6ft tall, was leaking the gas. It was at the back of the building, and posed no risk to the public.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews worked alongside an onsite specialist engineer to isolate the cylinder valves to stop the leak.

They also used a ventilation fan to clear the gas from the property. The cause of the leak is not known.
