Detectives launched an investigation into the incident - which took place at about 10.30pm on October 21 - and have now confirmed a suspect is due to appear in crown court next month.

A police spokesman said: "We arrested and charged Iain Mckenzie, 43, of no fixed address, with robbery.

"He appeared in front of Folkestone magistrates on Tuesday and was remanded in custody.

"The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on February 27."

Officers also say a 38-year-old man from Herne Bay, who was arrested on December in connection with the robbery, remains under investigation.
