An animal shelter in Thanet is looking for a foster home for a very special cat.
Handsome tabby Zimba is seven years old and has been in isolation at TAG Pet Rescue for four months but is now ready to go to an exceptional foster home.
TAG will pay all his vet bills and will be very hands on, supporting his foster carer every step of the way.
Zimba suffers from stomatitis, which is an inflammation of the mouth, and he also has an infection called calci virus, which can be passed on to other cats.
He has just started a new regime of treatment with steroids and pain relief medication to which he has responded well and is much more comfortable.
There are conditions meaning he will have to be an indoor cat with no other cats or children in the house.
He also loves company, so TAG would like it to be with someone who is home a fair amount of time.
TAG says: “It would be wonderful to see Zimba roaming freely in a proper loving home, rather than living out his life in isolation, which would be so tragic for this lovely and affectionate kitty.
“He is such a loving boy who would give so much love in return for a warm lap and a tasty bowl of food”.
If anybody is interested in homing Zimba they are advised to contact sanctuary manager Chris Kiddell at tagpet@btinternet.com or on 01843 822931.
