Connor Olsen has the rare muscle wasting disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The condition causes muscle degeneration, which means he could be in a wheelchair by the age of 10, and has a life expectancy of just 20. There is no known cure for the condition and research into treatments is not funded by the NHS.

Mum Georgina thought the day was a great success.

She said: “We had visits from storm troopers and Clubworld in Margate very kindly sent down characters such as a minion, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Olaf. I would also like to thank all the local companies that helped with donating raffle prizes.

“It was an absolutely amazing day and the support for Connor was overwhelming as always. It gives us real hope in saving him and finding a treatment for duchenne muscular dystrophy.

“The day was a great success and we look forward to the fourth annual walk next year.

“We chose a walk for Connor it seemed quite appropriate as one day over the next few years he will be unable to walk and confined to a power wheel chair if a treatment is not found.”
