Ramsgate drivers warned as vehicles targeted in Whitehall Road, Park Road and Station Approach Road

There has a been a spike in reports of cars being vandalised and broken into across Ramsgate.

And motorists are being warned by police to remove valuables from their cars when they leave them for the evening.

This morning a car window was broken in Whitehall Road but nothing was snatched.

A car window was smashed in Park Road and a mobile phone, along with cash, was stolen between 9.30pm on Thursday, December 8, and 7.15am on Friday, December 9.

On the same night a purse with credit cards in was taken from a parked car in Station Approach Road.

And between Sunday, December 11, and Monday, December 12, three vehicles in Duncan Road had their windows smashed and property, including tools, clothing and cash, was taken.

Police spokesman Martin Very said no arrests had been made but inquiries are ongoing.

Officers have issued some tips for drivers on ways to stop their vehicles from being targeted.

Motorists should ensure vehicles are locked securely and remove valuables from them including tools, sat navs and phones.

Expensive items should be security marked as this makes it harder for criminals to sell them on.
