Da Silva was sentenced to three years and three months in prison.

On Thursday, July 30, 2015, Da Silva was stopped by police after leaving a property in Vine Close, Ramsgate. They found he was carrying three mobile phones and more than £1,000 in cash and arrested him on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

In November that year officers pulled over a Ford Mondeo in Ramsgate.

The driver, Walters, initially refused to get out of the car when told officers wanted to search it.

During the search two large bundles of money and a knife were found hidden under the gearstick and Da Silva, who was a passenger in the car, and Walters were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Evidence obtained from their mobile phones confirmed the pair were involved in drug dealing.

Da Silva of Mortham Street, Stratford, and Walters, of Sissons Road in Leeds, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, and possession of a knife.

Walters also admitted failing to stop a car when required to do so by police.

Da Silva admitted additional charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin relating to the incident on July 30.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Peter Frampton said: "Although no drugs were found, it was clear from the other evidence we found that Walters and Da Silva were involved in supplying drugs.

"They were contributing to an illegal trade which is not welcome in Thanet."
