Describing their plans to place the “beloved coffee haven” on the open market, Lorraine Edney and Rhys Huelin said “life (had taken) an unexpected turn”.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sale of Brew, our beloved coffee haven, due to a change in family circumstances,” their statement said.

“Brew has been more than just a business; it's been our passion, our pride, and our home away from home.

“It has been a beacon of warmth, welcoming all who are looking for great coffee, delicious sandwiches, and delightful pastries.

“Our loyal customers have become an extended family, and our dedicated staff have poured their hearts into every cup and creation.”

The couple’s Facebook post says they are looking for a new team to buy the building and business, to continue “a tradition of warmth and hospitality.”

“We are committed to finding the perfect new owner who will cherish Brew as much as we have,” the post continued.

“The spirit of Brew, its dedication to quality, community, and excellence, will live on under new ownership.

“If you've ever dreamt of owning an amazing cafe rooted in passion and integrity, now is your chance.

“Brew is not just a business opportunity; it's a chance to become part of a legacy, to carry forward a tradition of warmth and hospitality.

“Lastly, to our loyal customers, dedicated staff, and supportive community, we extend our deepest gratitude.

“Your love and patronage have made Brew the special place it is, and we will forever treasure the memories we've shared.”

The post, which came with an image of the shop front accompanied with the words ‘For Sale’, attracted a sorrowful reaction.

Sue Side says: “So sorry to hear this news you will be missed but good luck with your future ventures.”

Kayleigh King asked: “Where will we go to read now?”

Enjoying five star reviews across the board on delivery service JustEat and Google Review, one customer wrote recently: “The food was great.

“I got their build a breakfast and was reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients they used.

Staff was lovely and have a nice rapport with some of the customers.

“The service was a bit slow but we were told in advance and it wasn't too bad.

“Ended up getting a free extra without us even saying anything due to the staff caring about the quality of the food they produce.

“Coffee was nice - give this place a go if you're in town.”

Craig Ballard added: "This Café can't be recommended enough.

“While on a day out to Ramsgate visiting my mother with my two-year-old son, she suggested we see what Brew had available to eat as she was a regular in this Café.

She mentioned her recommendation for selling the highly missed legendary "Burger Puff" to the Café owner, and I simply couldn't turn down the opportunity to revisit a childhood favourite comfort food.

“Brew has not only perfected their take on the Burger puff, but they have created a superior version 1,000x better than the original most Ramsgate residents will remember.”
