Garden shed destroyed by fire believed to have been caused by firework or Chinese lantern in Nash Road, Margate

A garden shed was destroyed by fire last night in Margate.

Firefighters were called to Nash Road shortly after midnight on New Year's Day.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a firework or Chinese lantern.

A fence panel was also destroyed in the blaze.

Two fire engines from the Margate station attended the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze before 1am, using a hose reel jet, mainline jet and a thermal imaging camera.

The incident is believed to be accidental.
