Pet Shop Boys premier New Bohemia video - filmed by Andrew Haigh in Margate with cameos from Tracey Emin and Russell Tovey

The Pet Shop Boys have released their latest video shot entirely in a Kent town featuring some famous faces.

The duo, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, were spotted in Margate last month shooting the film which features scenes of them at The Lido, on the beach and in and around Dreamland.

The video, for the single New Bohemia, also features cameos from local artist Tracey Emin and the actor Russell Tovey. It is the latest release from their recent Nevertheless album.

Several locals were also recruited to appear in the clip which culminates in the Roller Room in Dreamland.

Director of the video is Andrew Haigh - the man behind the critically-acclaimed movie All Of Us Strangers featuring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal.

He said of the music video: “I have loved the Pet Shop Boys since the release of Please [their debut album in 1986].

“I have every album and have seen them play live many times over the years.

“Getting to make a music video with them has been a dream come true.”

The Pet Shop Boys, who have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, are currently touring Europe with their Dreamworld: Greatest Hits Live tour, ending with a five-night crescendo at London’s Royal Opera House.

They said of the New Bohemia video: “We had a lovely sunny day in Margate filming this video with Andrew Haigh, fresh from his success with All of Us Strangers.

“Thanks to Andrew and all concerned, in particular the many local residents who took part, including Russell Tovey and Tracey Emin.”
