Fire in Ethelbert Road, Margate

Thirteen firefighters tackled a blaze in a living room at a home in Margate, which is now being treated as an arson attack.

Crews were called to Ethelbert Road at about 6.30pm on Sunday and found the ground floor front room on fire.

All occupants of the three storey building were accounted for and firefighters tackled the blaze.

Police and the ambulance service were also at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but is being treated as arson.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.29pm on Sunday 28 May 2017 following a fire at a private address in Ethelbert Road in Margate.

"Officers attended the scene alongside the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

"No injuries have been reported. The fire is currently being treated as arson and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
