One kmfm listener scooped £1,000 after receiving a call from Getting You Home presenter Rob Wills this evening.

Gary Johnson from Ramsgate will be heading into the bank holiday weekend and half-term with with some extra cash after being crowned May's winner.

The Kent Radio Station's monthly competition 'Thousand Pound Friday' sees listeners enter via text and online to win the prize.

Entries start at 6pm on Thursday and 24-hours later one lucky Kent winner is chosen at random.

Gary knew exactly who was calling when the phone rang tonight as he was head back from getting his hair cut.

Gary said: "This is perfect timing. I am just moving to a new flat and this money could not have come at a better time. I have been playing for about a year now and I can't believe it was me!"

The winning continues on kmfm next week with the final for Say It on kmfm Breakfast with Garry and Chelsea, where one listener will win £1000, as well as the final for the brand new game ‘5 in Time’ on Getting You Home with Rob and Numi, where one listener will win £500 for getting to the top of the leaderboard.
