A major route is currently closed in both directions after a car overturned.

Emergency services are at the scene of the incident on the A256 Westwood Road, Broadstairs.

The black Nissan can be seen on its side and a witness has told KentOnline the driver was cut out of the car by emergency services.

“Thankfully the driver seems to be OK,” the witness added.

A police spokesperson said: “Police is currently attending a report of a collision involving a car and a parked car in Westwood Road, Broadstairs.

“Officers, along with other emergency services, were called to the scene at 2.45pm.

“A woman is being assessed by paramedics for any injuries.”

The road is closed from Poorhole Lane to Northwood Road.

Ambulance crews have been contacted for further details.
