Man charged after inappropriate comments made in Margate High Street to woman in car

A man allegedly attempted to open a car door and made "inappropriate comments" to a woman inside the vehicle.

Police have charged David Tench following the incident, which happened in Margate High Street at about 7.30pm on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old was arrested the following day after officers looked at CCTV in the area.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were contacted at 8.50pm on Wednesday and it was reported that a man had attempted to open the door of a car in Margate High Street that evening.

"The man had then reportedly made inappropriate comments to a woman inside the vehicle. The incident had taken place at about 7.30pm.

"Officers obtained CCTV from the area and a man was arrested the following day.

"David Tench, of High Street, Margate, has since been charged with breaching a Community Protection Notice."

He was bailed to appear before the town's magistrates' court on February 28.
