Two suspected metal thieves are to appear in court charged with theft by finding.

Shane Gowton, 31, of no fixed address, and Tom Thomas, 56, of Coleman Crescent, Ramsgate, have been charged with theft by finding. Thomas was also charged with failing to provide a sample for a Class A drugs test.

They were arrested on Thursday, November 27, after Police received a report of a van parked near roadworks in Poorhole Lane, Broadstairs in the early hours.

Officers found a quantity of cable in the back of the van, believed to have been taken.

Both have been bailed to appear at Thanet Magistrates' Court on Thursday, January 8, 2015.
