Ramsgate: Andrew Mullen charged with multiple offences

A man has been charged by police investigating a robbery, assault and two thefts in Ramsgate.

Andrew Mullen, 42, was arrested and charged following an incident in Sussex Street on Friday, May 26 between 10pm and the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was alleged that a 35-year-old man was threatened with a knife and had cash stolen.

Mr Mullen has also been charged with assault and two counts of theft following incidents in Turner Street last Friday, where it was reported cash was stolen from a 35-year-old woman, and in the town centre on Monday, where it is reported that a 52-year-old woman was assaulted and cash was stolen.

Mr Mullen was remanded in custody by Medway Magistrates’ Court today and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday, June 28.
