RuPaul's Drag Race stars visit Kent as they kick off new Netflix live tour

Drag Race stars The Vivienne and Cheryl Hole arrived in Margate to kick off Netflix's new live drag tour.

The Sundowners bar in Margate played host to the first stop on the 'I Like to Watch' tour, as fans travelled from across the county to attend the sold out show.

RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne and fellow star Cheryl Hole were accompanied by local up-and-coming drag queens, Delilah Tickles and Amy Redmond.

Upon arriving in the seaside town, The Vivienne said: “I'm so excited to be taking 'I Like To Watch' on the road.

"We've all had a shocker over the last year or so, and queens and LGBTQ+ venues have really struggled. I've made a career working in bars all over the UK, so I know how vital they are to our community.

"We want to give everybody a camp time, but fingers crossed our tour can help local scenes as they start to find their feet again."

It comes as this year's series of the hit show is set to air Thursday, September 15, featuring Kent queens River Medway and Krystal Versace.

In the pop up marquee, ticket holders were treated to a night of music and comedy.

The queens watched and hilariously critqued the controversial Netflix show 'He's All That' in their trademark scandalous fashion.

After more than a year in which venues and drag artists saw their industry struggle, with many regular gigs cancelled overnight, the hope is that this tour will be able to bring joy back to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Sundowners Bar said: "It was really good as a LGBTQ+ venue to have some recognition and publicity and it is so nice that they have chosen smaller venues to help them out rather then bigger London or Manchester bars."

Fans also shared their joy on social media after the event saying that the fabulous evening was "an absolute blast" and recommending the show to others.

The flamboyant kitsch motorhome transporting the queens caught the attention of passers by in Margate.

Alongside a photograph where she is posed next to the printed campervan, headliner Cheryl Hole tweeted: "I'm on the side of a caravan! We're here divas and ready for tonight."

However, fans were unfortunately only treated to one night of glitter and humour as the tour will now hit the road and visit Bournemouth, Nottingham, Glasgow and Swansea, before a final stop in Hull on October 20.
