Man in hospital after wooden plank and metal pole attack in Margate

A young man suffered head injuries after being attacked with a wooden plank and metal pole.

Police were called to the scene in Northdown Road, Margate, at about 12.05am following reports a fight had broken out involving several people.

The injured man, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital, but his condition is not believed to be serious.

Officers seized the plank and pole from the scene, which is near the junction with Ethelbert Road.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to call them on on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/220066/19. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
