Second Thanet beach assault in Broadstairs after 'gang of youths attack'

Four people were allegedly assaulted after a second attack at a Kent beach in a single day.

Officers were called to Broadstairs at around 10.50pm last night to reports of a disturbance.

Four people reported they were assaulted by a large gang of youngsters, with one woman needing her "head glued together".

It was the same day that a 50-person brawl took place at Margate beach, resulting in the arrest of 43-year-old man.

In the Broadstairs incident, another woman was allegedly kicked and punched to the floor by the a group and was left with a bloodshot eye.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 10.50pm on Saturday, June 29, to a report of a disturbance involving a number of people in the beach area of Harbour Street area in Broadstairs. Four people reported they were assaulted.

"Officers attended the scene and inquiries are ongoing."
