Seven people have been assaulted on a town seafront - sparking a police hunt for the attacker.

Two women and a man were taken to hospital with facial injuries after being punched by a man in Harbour Parade, Ramsgate, in the early hours.

Four others - two women and two men - were also assaulted but did not need hospital treatment.

Police were called to the scene just before 4.30am today to a report a man "had assaulted a number of people".

Officers say they are investigating the incident, and are working to identify the suspect.

No description of the attacker has yet been released.
