Police are investigating the cause of death of a man pulled from the sea.

Emergency services were called to Ramsgate Harbour yesterday after a report of a person in the water at about 9am.

Police and paramedics could be seen onshore while the coastguard and Ramsgate RNLI were scrambled to the area.

Today, a spokesman for the force said: “We were called at 9am yesterday to Harbour Parade, Ramsgate following reports of a body in the water.

“A man was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

“Officers are currently working to establish the cause of death.”
