Re-opening date revealed for former Kids Mayhem soft play centre in Margate

A family attraction designed to give children a blast of old-fashioned fun is set to reopen on a Kent seafront under new management.

The former Kids Mayhem in Margate – complete with its indoor ball pool, slides and soft play – will relaunch this week under its new name “Widget World”.

Originally owned by local businesswoman Charlotte Silver, the Marine Terrace playground changed hands in December 2021 before closing in November last year.

The owners said in a statement at the time: “Sorry to tell you we will be closing Kids Mayhem. “Our last day of trading is Sunday 19.

“We tell you this with a heavy heart and want to thank each and every person who has walked through our doors.

“A huge shout out to our amazing team. We couldn't have done any of this without you guys.

“We will certainly miss you all.”

However, hope is on the horizon with fresh signage appearing on the building emblazoned with the words ‘Widget World’ and an opening date of March 29 announced.
