Hit TV presenter Stacey Dooley has been spotted filming in Kent.

The documentary maker and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant was seen in Ramsgate yesterday.

Resident Gideon Dann said: "She was doing a piece to camera.

"She was up on the benches, where that big mast is overlooking the harbour. It was just her and a cameraman. She was also filming down at the harbour."

Ms Dooley, 34, also stopped to pose with a local pooch - whose owner described her as "so friendly and kind".

Cheryl Chown, owner of Ramsgate-based dog accessories business Baxter's Boutique, spotted Ms Dooley while out with her husband Steven and dog Baxter.

Mrs Chown said: "We were moving into our new apartment near Sion Hill when we saw Stacey sitting on a bench being filmed by a cameraman.

"We walked past a few times as we were moving bits from the car and when she got up I asked ‘is it Stacey?’

"She said ‘yes! Hi’. I asked if it was OK to take a picture and if she liked dogs?

"I then gave her the lead and introduced Baxter. She said ‘oh you don’t want a selfie with you in as well?’ I explained Baxter had his own small business and so just wanted the photo with him.

"She laughed and I said he was a pro at posing and took the photo. I basically just thrust the lead into her hand and she was absolutely lovely about it.

"She was so friendly and kind, waving to people passing and then having photos taken with other people too."
