Appeal after large fight at Margate station sees man hit on head with bottle

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit on the head with a bottle in a brawl at a station.

The large fight broke out between a group of teens and another group of young men on the platforms at Margate station, at about 9pm on June 24.

One man was struck on the head with a bottle during the incident.

Several members of the group also trespassed, by crossing the train tracks onto another platform.

A teenager was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

British Transport Police is now asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the groups together beforehand, to contact them by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 537 of 24/06/20.
