Coronavirus Kent: TK Maxx, New Look and Bella Italia among the retailers and restaurants to have closed at Westwood Cross in Broadstairs

TK Maxx, New Look, Primark and River Island are among the long list of stores at Westwood Cross to have shut their doors to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Shopping centre bosses published a list of the shops and restaurants at the Broadstairs outlet which have, or are planning to, close for the foreseeable future.

As of Friday, Ability Plus, Claire's, New Look, Outfit, Primark, River Island, The Body Shop,Yours and Clarks were shut.

TK Maxx has also closed its doors and restaurants ASK Italian, Bella Italia, Nando's and Chiquito have temporarily stopped trading.

As of the end of today, Waterstones and Costa will close and from 7pm McDonald's will do the same.

Bosses at Vue took the decision to shut all its cinemas last Tuesday.

A Westwood Cross spokesman says other shops may also be closing or have varied opening times and to keep an eye on the centre's website.

"We understand that this is a difficult time, and want to reassure you that the wellbeing of our teams, retailers and guests is our priority.

"In line with the latest government guidance, our centre remains open.

"The evolving nature of the situation makes some disruption inevitable, and we apologise if this causes inconvenience.

"To reassure guests, we have enhanced our already stringent cleaning protocols and postponed our events schedule.

"The policies and opening times of individual stores will vary – so please check individual brand pages for opening times before visiting.

"Our site teams are available to help guests with any questions they may have.

"Our retailers are working hard to help our local community, and we ask that our visitors shop sensitively and respectfully."
