Margate woman arrested after man hit by car in High Street

A man is in a serious condition after being hit by a car in the early hours.

Police were called to the junction between the High Street and Mill Lane in Margate at about 3am today.

The man, who is in his 30s, was rushed to a London hospital.

A 28-year-old woman from Margate has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Police said the man and the woman who has been detained were known to one another.

DCI Tristan Kluibenschadl said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information on the incident, or who saw a black Peugeot being driven in the vicinity at the time.

"We are also keen to obtain dash cam footage from motorists who were in the area, or privately held CCTV."

He is urging anyone with information is to call police on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/163064/19.
