Woman taken to hospital after crash on Ramsgate Road near Margate QEQM hospital

A woman has been taken to hospital after being cut free from a car.

The incident which happened today at 2.25pm in Ramsgate Road saw fire crews using hydraulic equipment to release the trapped woman.

The car which ended up on its side after the crash is being recovered and the road remains shut.

Police spokesman Amanda Wills said: "Police were called at 2.25pm to reports a car had ended up on its side on a roundabout.

"No other vehicles were involved.

"SECamb were also there and the woman was taken to William Harvey Hospital.

"The road is still closed while the vehicle is recovered."

Police say they hope the road will re-open before 6pm.
