Crash in Canterbury Road, Westgate leaves woman injured

A woman has been taken to hospital after a car crash in Westgate.

The accident, which involved two cars, happened at about 2.10pm outside Ursuline College in Canterbury Road.

The injured woman had to be freed from her vehicle by fire crews who were at the scene, along with police and paramedics.

She was then taken to the William Harvey Hospital to be treated for neck pain.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to a crash involving two vehicles in Canterbury Road, Westgate on Sea at 14:23.

"Two fire engines attended and crews stabilised one of the vehicles before assisting paramedics in releasing a woman onto a long board."

All emergency crews have now left the scene.
