Biker taken to hospital after crash shuts A28 Chart Road in Great Chart near Ashford

A biker has been taken to hospital after a crash closed a busy route near Ashford.

Emergency services were called to the A28 Chart Road, Great Chart shortly after 8.30am today.

The collision involved a recovery vehicle and a motorbike.

The route was closed this morning but it has since reopened.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.42am today to a collision involving a recovery vehicle and a motorcycle in Chart Road, Great Chart near Ashford.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where the motorcyclist was treated for injuries. “He was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

“The road is open to traffic and officers remain at the scene awaiting recovery of the bike.”

It is understood the biker’s injuries are not life-threatening.
