Injury-hit Kent have signed Nottinghamshire seamer Charlie Shreck in a one-month loan deal on the eve of the new season.

The right-armer - who made his county debut in 2003 - has best figures of 8-31 and has twice completed a 10-wicket haul in a match.

He has 307 first class wickets at an average of 30.58 and a further 86 wickets in one day and T20 cricket.

Shreck said: "I’m grateful to Kent for providing me with an opportunity to play first team cricket and my aim is to make a positive contribution in their early fixtures and to return to Notts in good form.”

Kent’s director of cricket Paul Farbrace said: "We are really pleased that the deal has been agreed with Notts and we now hope that Charlie will do very well for Kent. He has performed over the years for Notts and we hope he will do so in Kent colours.” Picture: Barry Goodwin
